Venue Rules and Safety

General conduct

All visitors must behave lawfully and responsibly, follow reasonable instructions from venue management, use only approved areas, respect staff, guests, suppliers and neighbouring properties, avoid damaging venue property, keep emergency routes clear, and leave the property when lawfully and reasonably instructed.

Annerkant Venue may refuse entry to, or remove, a person who behaves violently, threateningly or abusively; creates a serious disturbance; damages property; ignores safety instructions; enters restricted areas; possesses prohibited substances; creates a danger to people or property; or interferes with venue operations.

Removal does not automatically create a right to a refund.

General safety notice

Annerkant Venue is situated in a rural environment. The property may include uneven surfaces, gravel, steps, wet or slippery areas, natural vegetation, insects or animals, water areas, moving vehicles, electrical or technical equipment, temporary event installations, and changing weather conditions.

Visitors must exercise reasonable care, wear suitable footwear, use approved routes, observe warning notices, remain outside restricted areas, report hazards promptly, supervise children and dependants, and follow safety and emergency instructions.

Nothing in these rules excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability arising from gross negligence.

Children

Children must remain under the direct supervision of a parent, legal guardian or responsible adult appointed by the client.

Annerkant Venue does not provide childcare or general child supervision unless this has been agreed separately in writing.

Parents, guardians and event organisers must ensure that children remain away from the dam and other water areas; do not enter restricted areas; do not climb structures, furniture or equipment; do not interfere with electrical, sound or lighting equipment; do not enter service or supplier areas without permission; and follow all safety instructions.

The presence of venue staff does not transfer responsibility for children to Annerkant Venue.

NO SWIMMING — DAM OUT OF BOUNDS

The dam and all other water areas are strictly out of bounds unless Annerkant Venue has expressly approved a supervised activity in writing.

Swimming, diving, boating, fishing, playing at the edge of the dam, and entering fenced, marked or restricted water areas are prohibited.

Children must never be left unattended near the dam or any other water area.

The client and event organiser must inform guests of these restrictions and assist venue staff in enforcing them.

Electricity and backup power

Electricity is subject to the available electricity supply; network or municipal interruptions; the venue electrical infrastructure; solar generation, where installed; battery or inverter capacity, where installed; generator capacity, where available; fuel availability; maintenance; safety restrictions; and the electrical demand of the event.

Annerkant Venue will take reasonable steps to provide the electricity arrangements confirmed for an event.

Uninterrupted electricity is not guaranteed where supply is affected by load shedding, network or municipal faults, severe weather, equipment failure, safety shutdowns, fuel or mechanical limitations, or circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the venue.

The exact backup-power arrangement available for an event is confirmed in writing.

Solar, battery and generator systems

Where installed or available, solar, battery, inverter and generator systems may support selected venue operations during a power interruption.

Available backup power depends on sunlight and weather, battery state of charge, system capacity, generator condition, fuel availability, total electricity demand, duration of the interruption, and approved priority circuits.

Backup power may not support every plug, appliance, air-conditioning unit, sound system, lighting installation or catering appliance.

Only authorised persons may operate or access electrical panels, solar equipment, batteries, inverters, generators or fuel areas. Guests and children must remain outside restricted electrical and generator areas.

Client and supplier power requirements

Clients and suppliers must disclose all significant electrical requirements before the event, including sound systems, DJ and band equipment, lighting, catering appliances, refrigeration, heating or cooling equipment, projectors and screens, cold-spark, smoke or haze equipment, external generators, temporary distribution boards, and other high-load equipment.

No high-power device, external generator, inverter, battery or temporary electrical installation may be connected without prior written approval.

Annerkant Venue may refuse or disconnect equipment that was not disclosed, exceeds available capacity, appears unsafe, overloads circuits, uses damaged cables or plugs, lacks required compliance documentation, interferes with venue systems, or creates a fire or electrical risk.

Alcohol

Alcohol may be supplied or consumed only in accordance with applicable law, the confirmed arrangements of the venue, the signed booking agreement, and reasonable venue instructions.

No person may supply alcohol unlawfully, supply alcohol to a minor, drive while impaired, bring prohibited alcohol onto the property, or behave in a manner that endangers other people.

Annerkant Venue may refuse service or require an intoxicated, disruptive or unsafe person to leave.

Outside alcohol, corkage and bar arrangements are confirmed in writing.

Smoking, fire and hazardous items

Smoking and vaping are permitted only in designated areas.

Prior written approval is required for candles, open flames, braziers, gas appliances, generators, fireworks, cold sparks, pyrotechnics, smoke machines, haze machines, and other heat-producing or special-effects equipment.

Annerkant Venue may prohibit or stop any activity that creates an unacceptable fire, electrical or safety risk.

Décor and installations

Nothing may be nailed, screwed, stapled, glued, drilled or permanently attached to venue property without written approval.

Annerkant Venue may restrict confetti, glitter, rice, artificial petals, paper lanterns, balloon releases, open-flame décor, environmentally harmful materials, and items that cause excessive cleaning.

The client must ensure that decorators comply with venue rules.

External suppliers

External suppliers remain independent contractors.

The client must ensure that suppliers arrive and leave within approved times; comply with venue and safety rules; use safe and lawful equipment; maintain any required licences, certificates or insurance; keep exits and access routes clear; protect venue property; remove their equipment and waste; and follow electrical and fire-safety requirements.

Annerkant Venue may refuse access to unsafe, unlawful or materially unapproved equipment or activities.

Damage, breakages and cleaning

The client may be held responsible, where legally appropriate, for damage, loss or excessive cleaning caused by the client, guests, children under the responsibility of the event organiser, suppliers, contractors, performers, or other invited persons.

This may include broken or missing property, damage to buildings, furniture or equipment, damage during setup or breakdown, unauthorised alterations, excessive waste, excessive cleaning, and electrical damage caused by unauthorised equipment.

Annerkant Venue will retain reasonable evidence of claimed damage or loss. Any damage-deposit arrangements are included in the Venue Booking Agreement.

Personal belongings

Guests, clients and suppliers remain responsible for reasonable care of their personal belongings, gifts, vehicles and equipment.

Annerkant Venue is not automatically responsible for unattended, lost, stolen or damaged property.

Nothing in this clause excludes liability where the venue is legally responsible.

Parking and vehicles

Vehicles must be parked only in approved areas.

No vehicle may block entrances, emergency access, gates, fire routes, delivery areas, neighbouring properties, or public or private roads.

Drivers must drive carefully, follow venue instructions and not drive while impaired.

Vehicles and their contents remain the responsibility of their owners, subject to applicable law.

Music, sound and event times

Music, amplified sound and entertainment must comply with agreed event times, the signed agreement, venue instructions, applicable municipal requirements, neighbourhood considerations, and safety requirements.

Annerkant Venue may require sound levels to be reduced or stopped where reasonably necessary.

Overtime is not automatic and may attract additional charges where approved.

Weather and outdoor activities

Outdoor activities remain subject to weather, ground conditions and safety.

Annerkant Venue may move, delay, restrict or stop an activity where conditions create an unreasonable risk.

Clients should discuss suitable alternative arrangements where an event depends on outdoor areas.

Emergencies

Guests and suppliers must follow emergency instructions immediately.

Emergency exits, fire equipment, gates, access roads, evacuation routes, electrical equipment, solar or battery equipment, and generator installations must never be blocked, moved or interfered with.

Accidents, injuries, fires, electrical faults, unsafe conditions and property damage must be reported to venue management as soon as reasonably possible.

Photography and privacy

Clients, guests and photographers must respect the privacy and rights of other people.

Annerkant Venue will not use identifiable client or guest images publicly without an appropriate lawful basis or permission where required.

Consumer rights

Nothing in these Venue Rules removes rights that cannot legally be waived, excuses gross negligence, permits an unfair or unreasonable term, limits liability that may not lawfully be excluded, or replaces duties imposed by applicable law.
